6/365: I had to highlight the American tradition of Super Bowl Sunday for my pic of the day. My mom made hummus from scratch, along with a vegetarian chili. Pair with some chips and salsa, and we have ourselves a little Super Bowl feast! Here is my beautiful mother with her Super Bowl treats:

Thanksgiving 2010

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Madera at my uncle’s house. My cousin Briana goes to UCSC now, so we picked her up from campus and were on our way! We spent 2 nights there and enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace and eating delicious traditional food. mmm mmm good.

We brought our dog Joya along, so there were dogs of plenty who became my photographic subjects throughout the stay. Let’s start with the fam:

Let the festivities begin!

Dog walk to digest…and feel a little bit better about ourselves after the feast.

Gilroy Garlic Festival 2010

Posted in Event, Food, Photography by daybf on August 29, 2010

This year I went to the Gilroy Garlic Festival for the first time. After an extended trip full of traffic, I finally met Yelena and Clayton there and we immediately sought out garlic drenched food. It was fun seeing so many people out-and-about enjoying the beautiful day. There were all sorts of little booths, food demonstrations, bands, and–of course–food. Here is the festival through my eyes:

Clayton bought diced garlic in a jar, and was very pleased!

Yelena’s first experience with Escargot:

One of my favorite shots, I just love the candid energy and joy:

Our group with odd Garlic Man. I wasn’t afraid to get close and personal, while Clayton and Yelena stayed a safe distance away:
