Dancing [running around coffee tables, porch posts, and trees] with light

Posted in Action, Photography by daybf on October 11, 2009

I love photography, but I haven’t experimented much with long-exposure light stuff. What’s wrong with me you ask? I’m not sure, but I finally gathered friends and got creative! It amounted to lots of fun and neat results! They’re all unedited, so I may go back and change a few, but the gloomy warm tones are kind of fitting how they are…

Welcome to my living room.

Outside without indoor lights on:

Spirits run around our front porch. So cool…I’m very happy with how these came out.

I love the shadow on the door:

Yelena wins the most-human-figure-resemblance award (2nd from right), and Karolin gets most-unexpected-result award with her dotted line outline (far left) Shaina is most energetic (2nd from left) and I’m just a ghost with the tiniest figure outline (far right):

Our old couch is in our front yard under the lemon tree, so I couldn’t resist it as a prop! The plaid and floral fabric actually compliment the tree, imagine that.

The ones on the couch are too cool (:
What were you guys doing? Just moving lights around? Like cell phones or something?

We used small leds, and flashlights and ran around moving the lights (shining them towards the camera). You use a long exposure-we did 15 sec or 30 sec (longer time if you want stationary subjects to show up clearer like in the couch ones). It’s a lot of fun to do!
